This module is led by Ms Sharenee Nurjanna. In this module, students will learn how to sketch and read plans.

Task a

ASSIGNMENT 1

Objective:

1) to demonstrate knowledge of the fundamentals of landscape graphic communication and landscape design process.

2) to develop visual communication thinking skills through sketching exercises

3) to equip students with graphic media knowledge and critical exploration on colouring techniques.

During the first tutorial class, Ms Renee pointed out that I did not draw the boundary line and that I need improvement on my plan in terms of outlining so I did it again with different thickness of Artline pen.I tried to apply different weight while drawing as Ms Iffa taught during lecture class. After that, I labelled the hardscape and softscape present in the Master plan.

I started with measuring the length of each item in the Original master plan to determine the sizing and proportion of the plan. I then used a pencil and a ruler to draw out a draft of the plan

TASK B

For Task B drawing the softscape and hardscape plan and elevation/ perspective view. I practiced a few times on rough paper before drawing onto the printed template. I also tried my best to do some research on the softscape and hardscape in order to complete the assignment. After colouring and outlining them, I spent the last few days to do some touch up before submitting it before the dateline.

ASSIGNMENT 2

For this assignment we were tasked to work in groups to do a precedent study on an experimental group. Ms Renee assigned my group to work on Penang Botanical Garden. My group consisted of 4 members including me, they are Aishath Malaaha Ismail, Daryl Goh and Eric Mubangka Mukena.

Objectives:

1) To identify the type and describe the characteristics of a park.

2) To understand the process of translating information into diagrammatical representation of data. 

3) To demonstrate understanding and explanation of landscape features and elements in a park. 

PROGRESS

We nominated Daryl as our leader, after that we each segregated our parts. I was in charge of doing the circulation of the park. I first did some research on the park. I then found the tourist map of the park and drew it out to map out the circulation easily. I also listed and label the location on the map. Since I didn't have good editing skills, Daryl helped out by editing the map to make it look more professional and tidy. After adding all our parts into the poster, we then handed it in before the dateline. We made the poster in Canva according to the instructions given my Ms Renee. 

In conclusion, I had fun doing this assignment as I learnt more about many new things such as circulation, zoning, softscapes and hard scapes and the history of Penang Botanical Garden. Furthermore, I'm grateful to have such friendly and cooperative team members. I also realized that I must polish up on my editing skills as it's important to have good editing skills to create better work.

ASSIGNMENT 3

For this assignment, we were assigned to work in groups. My team had 6 people who are Aishath Malaaha Ismail, Chow Yong Xuan, Damia Khalysa Azurin, Omar Osman Tharrini Muneswaran and me. We nominated Tharrini as our group leader. Our aim is to design and propose a landscape design project for your chosen figure's dream house. After discussion, we decided to design a dream house for Nick Vuijcic who is an evangelist without arms or legs.

Objective:

1) To acquire knowledge about design process, planning and development of project.

2) To proffer exposure of small-scale landscape project to the students. 

3) To familiarize students on idea visualization in design development stages. 

PROGRESS

After choosing our celebrity figure, we took time to discuss what we should include in the landscape proposal. We chose Whatsapp as our medium of communication. We also segragated tasks so that everyone gets an equal amount of work to do. I was in-charge of planning the golf course, playground and softscapes in the plan. After we all had done our research, we complied them together in canva as per the instructions given in the brief. Furthermore, we also showed our progress to Ms Renee every week during tutorial class. In  the end, we managed to finish the assigment within the time given. 

In conclusion, this assignment was a success and I had fun doing it together with my team mates who are cooperative. It was interesting to design a landscape proposal as it was as if we were designing our own home. Furthermore, I also learnt how to plan and design  lansdcape proposal.
